Playa Tortuga is a magnificent palm lined stretch of sandy beach designated as a
sanctuary for the (Really big) turtles that breed there. As you look to the
north end of this beach, you will view the river which separates Turtle beach
from Platanitos. When the river is running low you can walk and swim across to
Platanitos. However we suggest that we return to our vehicle and drive over
for lunch and a swim because this river is a designated crocodile breeding
ground and sanctuary!!
